No: Really no! you would get exhausted before too long. If you do have a heart issue, though, then it may get acutely worse during strenuous exercise and that would also make you stop.

Maximum: Maximum predicted heart rate is calculated as 220-age. For a 22 year old the maximum heart rate is therefore 198 bpm. If your heart rate reaches 250-270 during exercise, it would be best to get evaluated.

Yes it can be --: you may have what's called inappropriate sinus tachycardia.  I would recommend a cardiac electrophysiology testing ASAP, and ask your doctor to refer you to a cardiac electrophysiologist -

?: Bonnie, it's hard for me to imagine that your cardio has not treated your resting heart rate of 155+. This is damaging to your heart whether you exercise or not. Moreover, if your resting heart rate is near its maximum, you're not going to get very far with your exercise.

Tachycardia, SV: During an episode of SVT, the heart's electrical system doesn't work right, causing the heart to beat very fast. The heart beats at least 100 beats a minute and may reach 300 beats a minute. After treatment or on its own, the heart usually returns to a normal rate of 60 to 100 beats a minute.

SVT may start and end quickly, and you may not have symptoms. SVT becomes a problem when it happens often, lasts a long time, or causes symptoms.

SVT also is called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) or paroxysmal atrial tachycardia (PAT).

: A pulse of "208" may just indicate exercise intolerance.  Suggest seeing a cardiologist for stress testing to rule out other causes, and providing a template for gradation of exercise parameters.

Heart rate: Normally heart rate responds to exercise or physiologic demand levels. Usually we don't see it go over 180-200 even with high levels of exercise. This level while tolerated by 'normals' may be dangerous in patients with heart disease or other forms of disease. In other words, one number doesn't fit all.

Heart rate: Heart rate of 116 if at rest is faster than normal. It is not dangerous in and of itself. What is important is why it should be elevated at rest and there are many possibilities for this.
