Same: It's the same thing. Uncommon to have unilateral enlargement and it should be checked out. If it's confirmed we usually recommend tonsillectomy

This is common: The left one got infected at some time, scarred up, the scar is added to the basic tonsil structure and its contraction pulled the crypts open.
