Asym breast tissue: could be nothing but a change in mammogram warrants further testing - either a biopsy or additional imaging such as an MRI or 3D mammogram.    In my opinion ANY abnormal breast issue needs to be investigated even if it is something as simple as more frequent mammograms .   I would discuss this with your doctor -  you could always get an opinion of a breast surgeon.

See your doctor.: It is very difficult to distinguish normal "lumpy-bumpy" breast tissue from one that warrants further evaluation.  Lumps that "count" tend to be 3-dimensionally round rather than pencil- or pancake-shaped and are harder than normal rubbery breast tissue.  When finding a new lump, it is best to see your dr.;it may be wise to get a mammogram, ultrasound, or even a biopsy, depending on their findings.

Yes: Most breast cancers are round hard and not painful   If lump is like cylinder that is usually fibrous tissue.  However you need a mammogram and possible breast ultrasound to make sure it is not serious problem

Generally, yes: Most women have fairly symmetrical breast tissue architecture from one side to the other.  It is very common to have mild asymmetry in terms of size.  It is even common to find different architecture within different areas of the same breast. Your best value in doing BSE is detecting a difference in any area of the breast compared to previous BSE's.

i have a small soft movable lump in my left breast that isn't symmetrical in the other. is this normal or should all breast tissue be exactly symmetrical? i have the same type of lumpy/bumpy tissue in both breasts just not symmetrical is this normal?

Breast tissue: doesn't have to be symmetrical but your description suggests changes, a possible solid component called a fibroma.  Keep checking with your doctor and if grows needs to be rechecked, even if stable in the past.

Dilated duct: Pain in breast tissue not common under 35 years of age.  All benign activity secondary to influence of hormone on breast tissue.  Under 30 hormones effect mammary tissue and produce fibroadenomas.  Over 30 there is a shift to affecting the mammary ducts which tend to block  near    nipple.  Resulting  backup of fluid in duct produces  cysts  with a site of tenderness. Dx sonogram may help .

hi. i am 32. i had mammgm and us of the breast. in left breast the us shows superficial thickened breast tissue and edematous.follow up in 3 month. when searched on internet everything points upto ibc? is this a sign of ibc. bi- rads3. please help?

Doctor evaluation: We are not able to offer interpretations of an individual's radiologic findings outside of an appointment. Consider scheduling a visit with the doctor who ordered the mammogram and ultrasound. They can repeat the examination and interpret the findings in the proper context.

Can get 2nd opinion: Sometimes, plastic surgery does not lead to the desired result. A patient can recheck with the surgeon to find out what the lumps are... meaning are the lumps scar tissue, foreign material from implants, her own body reacting to foreign material, inflammatory lymph nodes, new tumors, etc... A patient can get a second exam and opinion to compare with the first opinion.
