i have asthma and i always get dizzy and light headed, especially during afternoons. does my asthma have something to do with this?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Check your peak flow meter each day (aren't you doing that already?), and check it when you have symptoms of dizziness and lightheadedness. Also, are you skipping meals? This could explain your symptoms also. Hope that helps.

i have been dizzy, falling over, light headed, my asthma has been horrible, shaky, constant headache not sure what is going on any suggestions?

Be evaluated soon: If your asthma is acting up, you should see your doctor ASAP to prevent it from worsening.  Your symptoms can be due to poorly controlled asthma with a low oxygen level, or overuse of your rescue medication.  Overuse of your medication can be very dangerous.  Your doctor can help stabilize your asthma with other medications. Seek help now - asthma is NOT something to take lightly! It can kill.

going for pft for suspected asthma,but when dr. listened to my lungs i felt very dizzy and lightheaded.is it bad if i feel like that during the test?

respiratory alkalosis - i've been dizzy, lightheaded, and unable to exhale fully for weeks and its gotten worse. have you ever heard this from asthma?

Could be: You need a chest x ray and a lung examination. Yes it could be asthma, but there ar other possibilities which could be more serious.

Yes: Loss of consciousness can potentially occur through several physiologic mechanisms.

i have asthma, when it is extremely hot i get dizzy and lightheaded when standing or walking around. i dont feel shortness of breathe or typical symptoms. my heart rate will increase also. is this part of asthma or could be heart related?

Eval:  This may be related to heat.  When was the last time you were assessed? The dizziness and lightheadedness is concerning.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

Numerous: Many, many, many possible causes.  It is far to complex a subject to answer in this limited forum.  Best to discuss with your doctor.

Accepted Answer

"Maybe".....: Some people get lightheaded / dizzy / "giddy" or other adjectives to describe an unpleasant sensation in response to some smells or other stimuli. If you are normal when away from the odor and symptomatic when near it, then it is likely the culprit. If symptoms persist, then may be something else and coincidence, so see your Dr to be sure.

can eating one meal a day cause weakness or dizziness/lightheadedness?

Expected: Human is not made to eat just one meal a day and thus you are subjecting yourself to bouts of hypoglycemia when without food for a long time , thus the weakness and dizziness  you need to eat at least 3 meals a day. They need not be large, just enough to cover your energy need.
