No: milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) is not appreciably absorbed and works mostly in the intestines to increase fluid intake into the bowel to promote a bowel movement.  If taken in excess it can cause fluid loss and dehydration, which could effect your other meds.  If taken as prescribed, it should not cause problems, but talk to your doctor and/or pharmacist to be sure.

IBS: I would recommend that you do a food dairy and see which foods you are allergic (ibs pts have allergies).  The most common are dairy and gluten.  You can try a to do a food elimination diet where you eliminate an entire food category for 1-2 weeks to see if you improve.  I would recommend a high strength probiotic of 80 billion.  For constipation i would recommend taking mag 500-1000 mg per night.

take 10mg celexa a day and just took 4 tbsp of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) for constipation.  just saw on drugs.com there's a moderate interaction. am i okay?

Yes.: You're on low dose of celexa. Just be cautious on milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) use.  It's not good to use large amounts of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) at any time. The interactions you saw are very rare, and usually requires that you have electrolyte abnormalities that are not common at your age group.   Senna S is a vegetable laxative that is safer overall.

Depends: Milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) is full of some good things for skin, like magnesium, and zinc, and it has anti-bacterial properties. It has been mentioned as a way to control acne when it is used as a mask. It works best for oily skin. However, it is very drying, and so can cause problems for people when used too frequently, or if left on too long, or if your skin becomes dryer, or if you are allergic to it.

MOM: Magnesium hydroxide is used as antacid & as laxative, and topically for canker sores (aphthos ulcers). Some believe it can be used topically on the scalp to releave dandruff.

Laxatives: Nope. Not in any way. This product is very dangerous if used too frequently and the abuse of this product can really harm your GI tract.  

Laxatives will in no way lead you to real or sustained weight loss.

2.5 to 10 ml: The doses as above are for infants to 10 year old children. Try the smaller dose, vary the timng and see what works for you. I use 5-10ml on my own 5 yo daughter with good effect every day.

Yes: Yes that is okay. You can also try miralax (polyethylene glycol). This is very safe.

She constipated?: What's the reason?  Is she constipated or trying to get more magnesium?   Certainly this is not the best way to manage chronic constipation.   If you tend to get constipated, try eating more fiber and exercising regularly .  If the problem persists, see the GI doctor.

my milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) expired in 1/16 and i'm having bad constipation...is it ok to take one dose of it until i can get some new medicine in the morning?

Well : General over-the-counter medications that are expired are still effective for your two if not exposed to excess heat moisture  or  excess cold
