325 mg daily: Would start on 325 mg and get to the hospital.  A TIA can not be differentiated from a stroke initially - until the symptoms resolve.  If symptoms resolve, it is a tia.  If they don't, these persistent symptoms represent a stroke - which requires immediate treatment.

Probably not: Omega 3`s and low dose Aspirin work at different levels.  Omega 3`s replace cell products that release products of inflammation while the omega 3`s don't. Aspirin affects the blood platelets that normally control clotting and bleeding.

Topical meds: Most meds are quickly absorbed through the skin. If you do not believe it...Crush up a fresh clove of garlic, and stand on it. The skin on the sole of the foot is pretty thick...But soon you will taste the garlic.

Yes: The combination of aspirin and EFA-fish oil has been used with good effect especially for those with DM as they may be less sensitivt to aspirin's platelet effect and the combination is much more effective

Aspirin: Aspirin works by 'poisoning' platelets. Once all the platelets have been affected by the Aspirin , if you stop there will daily be more platelets entering circulation that are not 'poisoned'. This is why Aspirin is given daily. One whole aspirin(325mg) a day generally will ensure that all the platelets are hit. The 81mg/day dose is effective for about 80% of people.
