Cycles if coughing may occur with brief periods of rest.After a period the kid may develop fever and shallow rapid breathing.A history of eating material such as popcorn, nuts or other foods that can form particles is often common.

Intense focus: Be prepared to be close to singularly focused on one goal. Be aware that you may miss out on many other things because you are training.   A number of olympic athletes attended my medical school and one thing that they shared in common was the ability to intensly focus.

Prevention: It would be optimal to prevent these occurences altogether if possible; but quick suctioning would be the most immediate remedy.  Adequate hydration would also assist the body in preventing this; but if there is still concern, or if a cough/change in breathing pattern develops then seek urgent medical attention!
