Pain in Carotids: Inflammation in the carotid arteries may cause pain.  More importantly, it is critical that you see a vascular surgeon to have your carotid arteries evaluated.  You will need a carotid duplex to assess the amount of stenosis in the arteries, if any.  Carotid artery blockage is one of the leading causes of strokes. Have this evaluated today.

See below: The inflammation should improve with Prednisone therapy.  It would get worse without therapy.

Temporal artery: Giant cell arteritis, aka temporal arteritis, is an autoimmune disorder in which your body attacks the larger sized arteries in your body. Hashimoto is also autoimmune.
Ebv is a virus not auto-immune.

celiac artery stent placed 2yrs ago. stenosis thought to be from scar tissue,not plaque. 2yrs later, stenosis has worsened & i may need another stent.what is the purpose of stents if they tend to worsen stenosis from inflammation?will this keep recur

Vascular stents ?'s: A celiac stent is unusual b/c the blood supply is very redundant to the intestinal circulation. The bowel is not just subject to stenosis in one area, as there must be other areas perhaps a result of prior infection or the symptoms would not be there in the first place. If bowel circulation is compromised, stents are appropriate, but you may need more definitive surgery at some point.

See below: Not giant cell.   The gum bleeding can be related to other dental issues.  The other symptoms can be seen in lupus, sjogren's, and behcet's to name a few.  However there are diseases that mimic the symptoms of autoimmune diseases and thus you should see your doctor first for an evaluation.

superficial artery/vein on both sides of my head (gp states they're veins) runs from front of ear to forehead. strong pulse. inflammation blood test normal. temporal arteritis ruled out. i also get dull headaches. is a blood test conclusive?

: You are probably a light skinned person, making it easy to see vessels under the skin. The head is highly vascularized and that may explain why you see the blood vessels easily rather than having Temporal Arteritis which is actually best diagnosed by a biopsy. Headache may be due to tension and anxiety. You may seek a reevaluation however the doctor may have perceived your anxiety not pathology.
