See below: If you have a boil it is very common for the lymph nodes in the local area to get inflammed. They will go away as the boil subsides.

i have hypothyroidism and my pituitary glands hurt all the time. yesterday=bad all day. can't even touch the back of my head now. what is wrong?

Doubt pituitary: You have headaches.  Hopefully your hypothyroidism is being adequately treated.  Why do you think this is from your pituitary?  A pituitary headache is relatively unusual, and usually is associated with a relatively large tumor. See your doctor about the cause of your headaches.

No connection: The sinuses are air pockets inside the facial bones.  They are connected with the air passages of the nostrils.  From time to time, due to allergies or disease, the lining of the sinuses drain excessive fluid into the nose or back of the throat.  The sinuses are not connected to the back of the head.  If sinus discharge is bothersome, an ENT specialist could look inside and diagnose the cause.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc.  When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Get a doctor to exam: You need to be examined by a doctor to determine the cause of the swollen lymph nodes. This can be done by an ENT doctor or a general physician. If they suspect cancer a biopsy of the lymph node is done to make a proper diagnosis. But swollen lymph glands can also be due to infection in which case an ENT doctor can treat you with antibiotics.

Doctor can examine: Swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the head and neck of a young adult are most commonly from some infection such as a cold, the seasonal flu, a sinus infection, scalp or skin infections, etc... Those conditions cause inflammation can cause swollen lymph nodes in and around the neck. Of course, it's possible that the swollen glands are due to other reasons, too. One's primary care doctor can help.

i died my hair dk brown. i woke in the night scratching my head..my neck and ears are all bumpy and itch. 2 glands on the back of my neck are up.

This may: Be an allergic reaction. Don't know when your hair was colored. If you have been scratching a lot could have infecttion.  Would encourage you to see dermatologist. Take care.
