are there any problem with hearing that occurs with eds?

Yes: There are multiple types of ehlers danlos syndrome and the different types have different genetics and problems.  The most common is eds type 3, joint hypermobility syndrome which is associated with loose joints and sometimes skin & joint and muscle pain. Hearing and visual problems are uncommon.

Not sure...: If eds is ehlors-danlos syndrome,  then there is not usually an association with hearing loss.  However, there are a wide variety of reasons that you might have hearing problems.   See your local ENT for a hearing test and discussion of the results.  If your hearing loss is one-sided, associated with ringing or dizziness, or came on suddenly,  i would try and be seen sooner rather than later.

i have an ear infection and no fever. but hearing loss and pain. can this cause my resting heartrate to be up 10 to 15 bpm? i also have pots,eds,lyme

Yes, pain can: lead to increase in heart rate, due to stress, pain killers, with other medicines prescribed for your condition, will help the infection and pain, if no improvement see your doctor for re-evaluation , best wishes

See below: Most common is   hearing loss related to loud noises
loud bands   construction  shooting etc
protect ears from loud noises   less likely is scarring from infections  or perforations. Wax in ear can also affect hearing see doc for exam  and or hearing test screen  loud noise is hi freq hearing loss.

Yes: If you cannot hear well in background noise you may have problem with sensorineural deafness or presbyacusis. Needs to be checked.

Needs evaluation: He needs a good ENT evaluation with a good hearing test. Critical to improve hearing as untreated hearing loss is strongly associated with dementia.

See audiologist: It sounds as if this man (62 years of age is not that old) has a profound hearing loss.  Sometimes an audiologist can give you some help in handling and advising what to do.  If the otologist can not help, hearing and speech associations can help.  Finally, if the hearing loss is so severe, a cochlear implant may be the answer.  See an ear physician.

Meniere's, tinnitus: If your tinnitus is worsening please get your hearing checked to make sure it is not getting worse.
Improving speech understanding with a hearing aid (if indicated) helps tinnitus.

Accepted Answer

First, diagnosis: Hearing loss associated with tinnitus is very common.  You need an audiogram and a good look at the ear drum to make an appropriate diagnosis.  You could have otosclerosis (fixation of the stirrup bone in the middle ear).  You could have inner ear deafness which could be improved with a hearing aid.  The amplification may make the tinnitus less noticeable. Bottom line, you need a diagnosis.

See below: Wax or fluid   
wax can wash out in shower sometimes
try benedryl   if fever or pain see  ENT to eval for   otitis media
needs antibiotics.
