: There are some basic self testy you can do at home. Hop up &amp; down on both legs, then one at a time. If the pain makes you fall over it could be appendix. If you can't walk fully upright across the room, it could be appendix. The final decision is made when a well trained doc examines you.

Possibly: the intensity and the duration of the pain are important, as is your sex. It is a more difficult diagnosis for a woman because of ovarian pathology. If this has been going on for more 6-8  hrs go get evaluated

Abd pain: Possible causes of right lower abdominal pain include appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cyst, endometriosis, inguinal hernia, seminal vesiculitis, GI obstruction,  renal infection or stones & gastroenteritis just to mention a few. If you have severe abdominal pain then urgent medical evaluation is indicated. Abdominal pain with change to stool pattern  warrants evaluation.

Yes.: Appendicitis is most common in teenagers; 2/3 of all cases in the US occur prior to age 30. Nevertheless, I have operated on 3-yr olds and 90-yr olds for appendicitis.  Overall, people in the US have a lifetime risk of about 1:12 of having appendicitis.

More info needed: Where in the abdomen is the discomfort located? Typically appendicitis localizes to the right lower abdomen and associated tenderness there is classic. Sharp,fleeting pains in other parts of the abdomen are often gas pains or mild intestinal tract spasms. If symptoms persist,worsen or localize to the right lower abdomen, especially with tenderness, consult a physician for examination.

i have been dealing with anxiety lately, and i have been getting stomach pain. i'm worried its appendicitis though.

Appendicitis?: Not likely, since inflammation of appendix causes lower abdominal pain, and other symptoms of appendicitis.

Appendicitis: Appendicitis pain will almost always go down to the right lower abdomen and also have fever, nausea, vomiting, and lack of appetite. If symptoms worsen see a physician.

Unlikely: From what you described appendicitis is unlikely. It is not feasible to provide a more meaningful opinion without examining the patient. If the child gets fever or loses weight, it would be prudent to see a doctor.

Could be: Appendicitis begins and general stomach pain and then will migrate to right lower abdominal pain with fever and nausea. You need abdominal CT scan
