Yes and no: The newer techniques include both anterior and posterior approaches combined to allow something called segmental fixation while placing screws in individual vertebrae and attaching them to a rod.  It's not more flexible than harrington rods, it allows more attachment points and multiple more places to correct the curvature and relieve pressure on the spinal cord and nerves.

Congenital : Congenital scoliosis is typically treated in childhood. This really depends on the underlying reason for the scoliosis, how old your child is, and the chances that the scoliosis can get worse.  Surgery is a corrective option for this and it sounds like you should have an evaluation by a pediatric spine surgeon to see if surgery is or will be necessary at some point to help correct this.  Pediatric spine surgeons typically practice in major cities at the university or affiliated hospitals.  A pediatric orthopedic surgeon in your local are can also be helpful.

Probably: This is a problem that requires a face-to-face meeting with your doctor.  In that meeting, your doctor will listen to you, perform a throrough examination and possibly order labs or other tests. Based on this information, he/she will be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.

Yes: Scoliosis surgery  is performed as a fusion. This result in ablation of motion of the involved segments. The more segments involved the more restriction of back motion.

Depends: Flexibility post scoliosis surgery depends on which levels of your spine was fused.  If you are fused to the sacrum or pelvis then you may never have much flexibility.   If the lower segments of your lumbar spine were not fused then with some therapy you may gain more flexibility.  Your surgeon may be able to give you more detail.

if my scoliosis curve is 50 degrees thoracic and 25 lumbar, how much height will i gain after scoliosis surgery? my height is 162 cm but my armspan is 166 cm, does that mean ill approximately gain 4 cm after surgery since my back is pretty flexible?

: The height you gain will depend on the surgery and it's success and the surgeon would be the best person to be able to tll you that more precisely. Good luck
