Cyst vs. abscess: Cysts have a foul odor of the cheesy material inside. You may have had an abscess. See doc if it returns.

Warm compresses: It may take some time for this to disappear because it is the result of an inflammatory process which includes increasing the blood supply to the affected area.  Using heat may help the rate of clearance.

Lesions: Without an exam being able to definitively diagnose you is impossible.  I would suggest you see your Gynecologist ASAP because what you are describing sounds like a Herpes outbreak.  Testing can confirm that.  If that is the case, it is important to know going forward and for your current and future sexual partners as well.

Folliculitis: Sounds like infection around the hair follicles (the tiny "root" from which your hair grows) Get a anti-bacterial soap (eg: "PhisoDerm") and an antibacterial ointment eg: Bacitracin) and apply after a bath.
If problem persists see your Primary Care Provider (PCP)

Yes: If the area of redness and swelling is getting bigger, you need to be evaluated.  Sometimes antibiotics or  incision and drainage is needed.   Best wishes!

Residual infection: The hard, leathery, often darkened skin @ the site of a boil is residual inflammation from the skin infection. The skin should soften over time, but cd leave a scar. I wd say at this point, it's normal. But watch for fevers, more drainage, or worsening symptoms that may mean the infection (boil) is coming back. Also get checked for MRSA &amp; diabetes (which predispose to boils) if this is not 1st one

Now! Go Now!: It's about time to be examined by a physician. Call your primary care physician or get into an urgent care. I advise you to do this  as soon as possible as you are doing a good job of describing a spreading cellulitis. Untreated, things can and will get much worse.

Good hygiene: Need to obtain a nasal swab for mrsa. May need to be on an antibiotic for weeks or months to supress the bacteria. May need to shower with hibiclens daily for several weeks.
