Depends where: There can  be   lot of causes  of arm pain - circulation, soft  tissue, bone, neurological,  tendonitis, bursitis. Referred  pain like that  from a  heart  attack can also do this.  This is not your  heart  but depending where on the arm it is there  can be other  clues to the cause.You need to discuss  with your  phyisician.

Environmental Causes: Proto-oncogenes are genetic coding that, given the proper environment and triggers, will begin coding to the abnormal proteins leading to cancer.  Sometimes, even having proper oncogenes will not lead to a cancer.  I cannot stress enough that cancer is a combination of nature (genes) and nurture (environment) with a slightly heavier weight on nurture.

Stress/worries: Recurrent nightmares reflect stress/worries. Review your life, list your stressors, & seek solutions. Use strategies including talking with a trusted person, develop self calming skills, and eliminate unnecessary stresses. Review your internal dialogue as what we tell ourselves affects our stress/dreams. Develop a positive internal dialogue. Rewrite nightmares with positive ending-take charge.

Hips and Rythem: Just like some people have trouble rubbing their stomach and patting their head, hula-hooping is a skill some have trouble picking up.  In medical circles this condition is is known as hula-hoop deficiency or hhd :-) make sure you help those who are afflicted with hhd by bolstering other skills.  Ok, there is no such thing as hhd, but we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Get Help: Self harm is not a healthy way to deal w problems. If you engage in repeated self harm, you need mental health assistance. A comprehensive psychological evaluation is necessary. You may need medications to treat possible mental health conditions. If your self-harm is associated w substance abuse – detoxification, 12 step programs or rehabilitation may be indicated.  Dialectic behavioral therapy is.
