While large amounts of phosphate taken as a supplement could cause GI upset & diarrhea, in my opinion there is no such thing as true phosphate allergy.

Not for sure: there is anecdotal evidence that hydrocholoroquine/choloroquine might be effective vs COVID-19 but comparative studies are not complete yet.

Aralen allergy: Aralen (Chloroquine) is used in the prevention &amp; treatment of Malaria. An allergy occurs when your body’s immune system creates antibodies to a foreign substance causing a reaction that can be mild to severe.

What is the context: Depends on what you are looking for. No simple test. There are specific tests for certain things (penicillin).  There are a few tests done to determine if an individual can tolerate a certain med (G6PD). Mostly, though, it comes down to trial of a med and knowledge  of what to look for. For example if you get a cough with ACE inhib (lisinopril) your DR will change you to ARB (valsartan)

would an allergy test for a drug (morphine and derivatives) be something a pcp can do, or is this best left to an allergist?

Neither: The reaction to opiate (nausea, drowsiness, even itching etc) is not from allergy but from an intolerance which cannot be detected by any test .

will claritin (loratadine) protect against drug allergies for a full 24hrs? is it safe to use it if i've had hives from other, unrelated antihistamine pills?

Accepted Answer

Safe but...: It may last that long but may not be potent enough to control your hives.  You may need to up the dose to 4x daily.  It is unusual however to develop hives from taking any kind of antihistamine and thus i would suggest that you consult an allergist to sort this out.

i took allegra this morning thinking i was suffering from allergies. but, it didn't help my headache and stuffiness at all . so, can i take a dose of alka-seltzer plus sinus and cold? or should i wait until tomorrow?

: There is no interaction between Allegra and Alka Seltzer Sinus and Cold.
You can take it this evening if you want.

on several occasions, w/in a few days of finishing a course of antibiotics, i've experienced what my dermatologist referred to as a maculopular rash on my chest and neck. does that signify an allergy and does it mean those drugs should be avoided?

Rash post antibiotic: Drug rashes are serious and at times can have significant consequences. Usually the rash starts while on the antibiotic,but a post treatment rash  can happen.. is it to the same antibiotic or a different antibiotic every time?.  Would  follow  up with an allergist who can test you for antibiotic allergy.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Drug allergy is a complex issue, so many drugs r in the market with many active / inactive ingredients, fortunately enough only few people develop drug allergy, if at all in doubt stop the medicine review it with ur doctor to replace it, if it is an absolute necessity to take the drug in question consult an allergist.
