Aneurysm: an aneurysm is usually asymptomatic, and becomes symptomatic when it enlarges enough. If you can feel a mass and that's the aneurysm, you should have it addressed immediately because it means that it's large enough to create problems

Could..: It is definitely possible but very rare at your age. However, I don't have a  full history on your conditions so you would need to see your doctor for evaluation and final diagnosis.

Tell us more!!: What question/s do you have in mind?
Why did you have a CT scan of your abdomen done in the first place?  Tell us if you have any abdominal symptoms such as pain or blood in the urine. Any recent weight loss?
Once we/your doctors obtain this information the decision will be made to either do a biopsy of this mass now or monitor it for any growth in the future. Good luck.

Agree with doc.: This could be a serrious problem. Pet wwould be ok. May need help of pulmonologist or another doc to get a piece of tissue (biopsy) from the mass. Ask about side effects of biopsy. Do it soon.

2 mm?: This is a common place for lymph nodes.  Without knowing your history, i would not be concerned about a 2 mm nodule.  Check and see if it was 2 cm.

Extremely serious: Even in your brief description, you mention 2 worrisome features: size and proximity to the aorta.  It's beyond the scope of this forum to speculate on his prognosis, but i think you're aware that your father is in trouble. Talk with his oncologist. There are several types of lung cancer and some are more sensitive to chemotherapy or radiation. Best of luck.

Needs evaluation: Abnormal masses in the abdomen certainly can be due to cancer. This most certainly should be worked up, typically by looking for lesions elsewhere and possibly a biopsy of the mass. What diseases run in your family? There are many non-cancerous and cancerous causes of abdominal masses; it is best not to guess. Get the answer.

Lymph nodes: Difficult issue,from your description the larger node might be amenable to biopsy.Why are you having the CT performed? Short term follow up CT or other additional imaging should help

Sarcoidosis : Sarcoidosis is a diagnosis of exclusion that requires biopsy/histologic evaluation and exclusion of other diseases including lymphoma.  A 5.7 cm posterior mediastinal mass warrants evaluation by a thoracic surgeon.
