Ultrasound: Ultrasound is the easiest, safest, and least expensive.  Aorta size can also be measured with cross-sectional imaging, such as a ct scan or mr.  Finally, we can measure aorta size during invasive angiography or heart catheterization.

: Are you sure .77 cm not 7.7 cm?
If it is .77 cm, the aorta size is quite small, regardless of what part of the aorta for an adult woman. Congenital malformation of the aorta can cause this small aorta such as coarctation of the aorta.
If the size is 7.7 cm, it is too big, surgery is indicated.

The accuracy of the: measurement is not appreciably affected by using the inner vs the outer wall. The accuracy will be the same. The question is which measure is a better predictor of root diameter with regard to clinical outcome. The answer is actually to measure from the leading edge to the leading edge of the root above the valve. In other words, the outer edge of the first seen root to the inner edge of the last

: They are both accurate. I don’t understand exactly what you mean by accurate. I would discuss with your Dr and radiologist. What you want to know is which one is best predictor of having an aneurysm that may get larger. You may be able to get a copy of the MRI on  disc and look at it yourself. With a radiologist I would suggest.

Ultrasound: Is the preferred method for screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm as it is less expensive and involves no ionizing radiation. If aortic enlargement is seen, cta is usually chosen to determine most accurately degree of aortic enlargement, extent of aneurysm, and involvement of aortic branches.

Mri/mra: would go by mri/mra finding. if there was no significant aortic insuficiency or aortic valvular heart disease on the echo. would just repeat the echo in 1-2 years to see if ascending aorta increases in size.

Depends: Done properly, ideally with ECG gating, an aortic MRA is equivalent to an aortic CTA.  The opinion from some vascular docs is an overestimation on MRA. This was probably from movement artifact and older scanners.  The benefit of MRA is the lack of iodinated contrast and lack of radiation.  It is in routine use at many large medical facilities to periodically track aortic enlargement- kids/adults

Echo: Echocardiogram shows the aortic size in the planes imaged, it generally does a good job of it.

Aorta MRI: It means no vascular injury is seen;it does not necessarily mean the aorta is normal
