Not a good idea: People who are allergic to pollens (i.e., plant proteins) can be unpredictably allergic to herbal preparations (i.e., plant proteins). Use of herbal supplements by pollen allergic people is not a good idea; pharmaceutical allergy medications do not have any contaminants to which allergic people might react.

Wounds vary: Localized small wounds can be rinsed with sterile saline and dressed with a topical antibiotic ointment and covered with a sterile dressing. Deeper more involved wounds with extending redness past the immediate margins will likely require a more aggressive approach such as incision and drainage, or debridement, and possible oral antibiotics. Consult with your physician to see what is best for your.

Follow instructions: The best way to enhance the healing process is to follow the postoperative instructions provided for you to follow after your surgery, maintain good oral hygiene and nutrition, and avoid activities that can cause a potential problem, i.e., overzealous physical activity, smoking, spitting, excessive rinsing. Your dentist can prescribe a medicated rinse (peridex) or gel (sockit) which may also help.

i have a cold sore scab above my top lip and it looks horrible! it is so big! is there anyway to get rid of it or speed the healing process?? is it true if the cold sore is on skin that it would take 7 days! more longer than a one on your lip? please help

Keep it moist: Once you have reached the scab stage, it just has to resolve on it's own. If you keep it moisturized with ointment, it will soften the scab and heal more quickly.
If you have recurrent cold sores, consider having an antiviral onhand (pills and ointment). If you take or apply antivirals as soon as you begin to get symptoms (itching or burning), you can often abort the full blown cold sore.

Wound size?: This depends on the location and size of the wounds.  In some cases skin grafting is appropriate.  In others, a wound-vac device can speed healing.  Your surgeon should be able to advise on this.

Topical treatment: Can't really expedite healing...  But you can control pain fairly well with topical Lidocaine (patch, ointment, phonophoresis)
more importantly, find out why you got this condition (very uncommon in your age group); complete workup is needed.

None: Unless you are vitamin deficient, extra supplements aren't likely to change your healing time after a peel.  However, topical vitamin c products once you are healed have been shown to reduce redness.

Accepted Answer

1st or 2nd degree: Blisters develop in a more serious burn, called a second degree burn.  If you have a first degree burn it isn't going to blister later.  Cool the burn under cool (not cold) running water for 10 or 15 minutes or until the pain subsides. Don't ice it. If it is very large even though not blistered have it looked at.
