: Possibilities include ordinary GERD, laryngopharyngeal reflux or postnatal drip from allergies or paranasal sinus mucus drainage. An ENT specialist would be best to evaluate and advise you.

Food intolerances : Food intolerances can elicit hyper secretion as well as swelling in the tissues which will make any mucous more noticeable.  Reflux also commonly causes an over production of clear mucous a full stomach is more likely to cause problems.  Anytime it feels "hard to breath", anyone! will feel a certain level of anxiety.  If prone to it, yes, this will likely exacerbate things even more.

Thoughts..: It could be post nasal dripping.  This is a slow, constant drip to the back of the throat from the nose - can often be helped by allergy medicines.  I also think of things like reflux which could be causing your symptoms.  If it's been going on this long, make sure you get it checked out by your doc! best of luck.

Allergic rhinitis: Sounds like allergic rhinitis or if you're a smoker then it maybe chronic bronchitis. If you don't smoke, then it can be treated by avoiding allergens, especially pollen dust, and other household triggers or you may see your primary doc and be given a nasal corticosteroid spray which are usually quite effective.

Hydrate !!: To keep mucus moist & mobile ensure that you are drinking at least 8  8 ounces glasses of water per day.  Warm liquids can also help to loosen the mucus. A humidifier may help.  If you have drainage from your nose or sinus area - consider using a neti pot.

See Your M.D.: There's some over-the-counter decongestants but you rather see your doctor especially if you present an elevation in body temperature that is not within normal limits.

Possibly: There could be some irritation in the throat from the activity that is still healing. Please see your health care provider if it persists or worsens.

Possible nasopharyng: You either have chronic sinus infection or chronic infection above and behind the palate.  Unlikely to be from dirt or dust being swept from nose into throat.  Need to have ENT look into nose and behind palate to determine source of drainage and obtain secretions for culture.  Chronic nasopharyngitis is very hard to eradicate.  Ct only useful if there is chronic sinusitis.  Could try saline rinse.

Throat: If you are not sick, may be a sign of silent acid reflux or LPR, less likely allergic or from your lungs. You can try taking an OTC antacid.. If thats not helpful, check it out with your doctor
