Did you already: Have these? I am assuming you did and still have pain? There are a few things to do if you are still having pain, including further physical therapy, medication management, including neuromodulators and/or meds like cymbalta (duloxetine). Also consider trigger point injections that may help slightly. Look at alternative med options as well, such as acupuncture which can help. See an experienced pain doc.

Not sure: A discectomy is just that, removal of the entire disc.  So residual disc herniation should not occur, unless a complete discectomy was not performed for some reason.

Scar tissue: The space around the spinal cord is very delicate. Any bleeding in this area as occurs with surgery leads to formation of scar tissue which can lead to chronic pain, sometimes very intense. Talk to your surgeon or pain doctor about spinal cord stimulation or other therapies.

i had anterior discectomy and fusion at c7 to t 1 because of cervical radiculopathy from a bone spur   how common is it for the bone spur to come back and larger after fusion.  now causing multiple disc bulges and marrow edema in thoracic spine too ?

Bone spurs : Bone spurs can develop after stress to the spine like wear and tear over time and as a reaction to spinal surgery.

4 weeks: It depends on which level (or levels) is being operated upon.  Operations at any level may cause some hoarseness of the voice which is usually temporary, but may be permanent in rare cases.  Operations along the upper cervical spine (i.e. C3-4, c4-5) may cause inability to sing at a high pitch so discuss this with your surgeon.  Most patients have a normal voice about 1 month after their surgery.

Neck soreness: Most anterior cervical fusions are tolerated very well.  There wil be some neck pain and stiffness.  If you have arm symptoms, those should resolve after surgery- some right away and others over time.  The stiffness and soreness improves in a few weeks.
You'll have some throat soreness and maybe a "catch" in your throat when you swallow.  Overall, it gets better quickly.  Good luck!
