No: Although antacids do not work the same way or as effectively as a prescription medication, Tums (calcium carbonate) can be of minor help while you get your prescription refilled.  Make sure you see your doctor to make sure your current regiment is working for you.

Coronary calcificati: Too much calcium contributes to coronary calcifications and kidney stones. Calcium is best obtained from dairy not from supplements. Only 300mg can be absorbed at once, 8oz milk. Larger doses are not absorbed but wasted . Calcium carb should be taken eith food!

Not true.: If you use calcium-containing antacids (like tums), you will get a good supply of calcium in addition to antacid effect.  Other antacids (magnesium-containing, or so-called acid blockers like Pepcid (famotidine) or zantac) do not give you any calcium.

Safety: More and more reports suggest that chronic use of ppi's are not safe. H2 blockers like zantac and pepcid are probably safer. Pepcid is probably the most potent H2 blocker.

ive been taking a 65mg iron supplement daily for the past 8 years without any noticeable adverse effects. i recently learned about iron overdose and excess iron storage in the organs. should i be concerned even though i feel no adverse effects?

: You are partly right. Iron supplements are not recommended for the males because we can easily get enough iron in the normal diet . Women, because of their monthly periods lose blood, so they more often need iron supplements particularly during pregnancy.
I would advise that you stop taking iron as it is indeed stored in the body and excess storage can cause organ damage(after many years of use).

Lexapro is for depression and anxiety, it can have side effects of weight gain, anxiety and depression.

Lexapro with weight loss supplements are likely to have adverse effects.
Have Balanced Diet, Exercise, gradually increase pace and duration

PROBABLY: The main reason might be that the amount of calcium in antacids is not enough to meet the required 1000 - 1200 mg/day recommended for bone health. As well as the need to take multiple antacid pills to achive this dose.

: Since supplements like that are not investigated by government agencies, like the FDA in the U.S, physicians are concerned about the presence of contaminants which could have harmful effects. Also dosages are of concern and claims of efficacy are not validated.
