You need evaluation: Many things  can cause  - some serious. See a physician to be certain you dont have a blood  clot in the leg

May thurner: many possible reasons.  Abi being normal would eliminate arterial disease and usually not swelling.  An ultrasound should be used to rule out a deep venous thrombosis.  May thrurner syndrome can occur if a clot or major artery sits on top of a vein causing venous swelling.  Can occur in women.  Hope this helps.  Thank you for turning to health top.

It could be many: without visible picture of the red spot it is hard to guess
it could be an inflammed superficial vein
it could be the beginning of cellulitis
it could be from shaving if you have done that recently
my advice if it does not go away after applying warm compresser and a topical antibiotic go and see your doctor

Cellulitis/DVT: May have dvt/blood clot or infection if leg red. Possible venous insufficiency. Consult podiatrist.

Be seen: You need to be seen particularly if the symptoms are new or worsening.  If you have a history of varicose veins, you should be evaluated by a vascular surgeon promptly.

: Standing or sitting for a long time can give lower leg edema due to stasis (gravity and stationary posture preventing adequate return of circulation )  it is not a sign of heart or renal failure. Elevate your feet and legs for a few minutes at work and wear well fitting elastic stockings. You will be fine. Keep up the good work!

what would cause both of my shins to turn purple. i also have left ankle and leg swelling. my boyfriends shins are worse than mine with blisters?

Fractures / vascular: The purple color may be indicative of stress fractures, but it also sound s like you may have a vascular issue going on here.  Many factors such as your medical history and activity level come into play here.  I would definitely see a doctor as soon as possible  and not wait with what you are describing.

now i've started taking diltiazem tildiem again, how long will it take for the ankle/leg swelling to go? anything i can do to stop it/help it?

Again?: You say "again". Did you take it before. Why was it stopped? Did it help the swelling before (the tildiem (HCTZ) is a mild diuretic.)  Keep your legs elevated as much as possible and avoid salt as best you can to accelerate recovery.  If it doesn't work, you may need a stronger med.
