Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, usual causes of low ACE are chronic liver,or kidney disease, anorexia nervosa, Steroid therapy (usually prednisone), thyroid deficiency.

Major BP problems...: Angiotensin-1-converting enzyme converts angiotensi-1 to angiotensin-2, an extremely potent vasoconstrictor, leading to high bp. It is triggered by renin, produced in the kidneys due to low blood flow. The angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, or acei's are used to block this, but some still gets converted in the tissue, so we use angiotensin receptor blockers, or arb's.

See below: Sarcoidosis can be such a mild disorder that no treatment is needed or can be life-threatening.  Most of the time simple treatments - not steroids - will control the disease. Workup for underlying causes/mimics is essential.  Ace levels are meaningful only related to clinical symptoms.  Rheumatologist should provide clarification.

Maybe yes or no: And elevated ace level could suggest sarcoidosis. But this is not diagnostic and sometimes it is elevated and other conditions. Your evaluation will include looking at these options.

Probably safe: The interaction of these drugs with COVID-19 is theoretical. So far there doesn't seem to be harm, and the advice from most experts is to continue them. For sure don't stop them just because of potential risk. However, if the problem requiring ACE inhibitors or ARBs (e.g. high blood pressure, heart failure) isn't a problem in someone with COVID-19, some doctors might stop treatment until recovery. : I would choose the one with a longer half life but many other aspects may affect the decision such as its cost, insurance formulary or side effects.

Both can: Increase sodium and water retention, but generally aldosterone is more active, present in larger amounts, and maintained at higher levels. I would be curious about what led to your asking this question.

: ARBs often cause high potassium than it does in retaining sodium and water. Our kidneys and brain have a good mechanism to maintain salt-fluid homeostasis in the short term. Causes of clinical hyponatremia include kidney disease, excess beer and bread diet, excessive water drinking and exercise over long periods, cancer, heart/liver failure, surgery, brain disease, and other drugs

: I mostly use losartan.  Everyone is different and not possible to do so in a. Individual patient. As Yoggi BERRA SAID:  it is not possible to make predictions.  Especially about the future. I would ask you treating Dr what has been their experience in folks like you who live where you live.

Generally : Well tolerated. Common side effects potentially include: dizziness, low blood pressure, headache, diarrhea, fatigue and elevated potassium to name a few. A serious side effect angioedema (swelling of throat/tongue etc) is relatively uncommon.
