Angioplasty/stent : Heart attack is not necessarily prevented by angioplasty or stent. We do treat the underlying disease aggressively as well as dual anti platelet therapy to prevent stent thrombosis. If you smoke it negates much of the treatment.  Most people do well after angioplasty and stenting.

i'm af , my ef 60%, i haven't heart attact, no symtomps, no angina& haven't stenting.  after cabg & laa ligation, need anticoagulant or  antiplatelet?

Antiplatelets: Usually anti-platelets are the stand treatment to prevent a further heart attack in the setting of a known coronary artery disease and post CABG. Anticoagulants could be used in such instances like atrial fibrillation or history of DVT or PE. Left atrial appendage exclusion reduce but does not eliminate the risk of strokes from atrial fibrillation therefore often times anticoagulants are continued

Not sure: Not sure what you mean by radial artery not functioning.  Was there a failed attempt at radial puncture? Was the radial artery used as bypass graft? Radial artery has mostly been abandoned as an option for bypass graft and is only used as a last resort.  Please clarify.

Well...: Because you have Diabetes, you are not too young to have heart disease, especially if you are not having adequate control.  Your Average A1c should be below 6.7%

This : This certainly could be a minifestation of angina.  More information is needed to determine what other possibilities are for this particular constellation of symptoms.  When do you get the pains?  What are they like?  Are they related to any particular activity?  Do the pains come and go?  Can you characterize the fatigue to a greater extent?

had 2 stents placed for coronary artery blockages. prescribed plavix & baby aspirin for 1 year. prescribed pepcid so gas pain wouldn't be confused with angina. no history of gastric issues. how long can pepcid be taken safely? info says 14 days?

: We physicians can override that 14 day warning depending upon the patient's history &amp; medical indications. However, in your case I don't think it's advisable to take it for a year when plavix will be discontinued. Pepcid isn't for gas prevention but is to prevent your stomach from secreting acid&amp; thus protect the stomach from irritating effects of aspirin. You can do that long term with carafate

Angina: Angina is the pain produced by not enough blood flow to the heart muscle. Both exercise and stress increase the heart need for blood flow to the muscle. When the demand rises and the narrowed arteries don;t allow the supply to increase, angina results.

Angina: Teenagers can get angina.  It is rare unless there is a strong family history of early heart disease, teen is obese and has coronary artery disease already, teen is doing drugs (cocaine) and having a heart attack, or has an abnormal coronary artery that is getting occluded (closed).

Can be: It can be serious, especially if it's of new onset, getting more frequent, more severe, coming on with less effort, or lasting longer.
