Constipation: It is possible your anal fissures are caused by constipation.  Therefore treatment should be focused on relieving constipation - you can do this by increasing the amount of water and fiber in your diet.  Medicines such as senna, docusate and milf of magnesia help relieve constipation.

Not herpes: Herpes outbreaks of the anal area can mimic anal fissures. But the vast majority of anal fissures have nothing to do with herpes. If "Tested -" means you had a negative blood test for HSV, then you can be 100% certain your fissures have nothing to do with herpes.

i read high fiber diet can cause constipation and potentially anal fissures + diverticulitis from passing large stools. i recently passed large stools after starting 30g per day fiber. should i worry?

No: High fiber diet if tolerated is fine. At 27 it's probably a great habit.

Rectal tears: Anal fissures are tears in the anus, frequently caused by straining. Anal fissures can be painful. Treatment is resolution of straining. Nitroglycerin cream can help healing, as can Botox injection. Surgery is reserved for more severe cases.

It usually doesn't : In general, anal fissures do not cause constipation, unless you are intentionally stopping yourself from having a bowel movement because you're aware of the fissure. On the other hand, hard stools that happen when you are constipated can cause a fissure.

Usually 2-3 wks: fissures lasting more than 6 wks are chronic but treatment is still effective.  watch your diet, use good hygiene and be patient.  Increase your liguid intake and use sitz baths.  Ask your doctor what other options are available to you.

Chronic: or recurring anal fissures should be studied since they may be associated with inflammatory bowel disease! Assuming this work-up is negative a steroid (cortisone) Cream may be very helpful!

ANAL FISSURE: It can occur if child is constipated or move bowels rapidly and causes pain on defecation. It heals rapidly without doing anything.

Unlikely: Many other causes of your daughter's symptoms but cancer not likely.  Sounds like your gastroenterologist wants to look at the inside of her colon, perhaps do some biopsies to try and figure out a proper diagnosis and treatment for her condition.  Absolutely the correct thing to do.  A difficult condition to have, esp for a 10 y/o little girl.  My thoughts and prayers with your daughter and family
