Lupus is a mystery: Lupus is a famous master of masquerade--it can mimmic many disease states. Lupus symptoms may be present much earlier than when it can be diagnosed, thus lab measurement only provide a guide. This only means the lab has its limitation and medical science has only gotten this far. Don't rely on the lab, but rather rely on your bopdy--maybe something else is going on. Consult your doc. I believe that elevated ANA antibodies and melanoma are unrelated. A rheumatologist would be best able to determine the significance of an ANA result.

Hard to interpret: Antinuclear antibody tests are famously inconsistent because even when they are done correctly by the lab (and often they are not), the immune system is chaotic and results can vary tremendously from week to week. Ana's, especially at low titer, mean nothing apart from the clinical picture. Try to stay physically fit, and forget about the ANA unless your physician is super-concerned.
