Either: I believe either is acceptable in medicine.  Water is the typical diluent but flavored solutions are also used in pharmacies.

Yes u can: Can't see why not. Make sure that anytime your child is placed on an antibiotic, he does not miss a dose and takes it for as many days as it is prescribed.

Sure: This should be fine as long as he drinks all of the juice you have dissolved it in.

Yes: Sure, no problem. Or any other food you wish. There are no foods or drugs that interfere with amoxicillin.

: I would consider calling his doc to see if they have the penicillin injection available. Bicillin CR can be given at one time in a form that will cure strep. After one trip for this the kid may re-think refusing meds. You can mix amoxicillin with many juices but absorption is variable.

my 18 month old has been on amoxicillin for 7days now and since then has been vomiting everything he eats except pedialyte and juice. is this normal?

No: Stop the amoxil (amoxicillin). If he is on it for strep throat he may need a different antibiotic for a few days. If for something else he may be better already but vomiting may be a side effect of the medication and the best way to find out is to stop it and see if it goes away..

i am on antibiotics- amoxicillin and clarithromycin for h.pylori. i just drank orange juice and i've heard that it interacts with antibiotics. how much time should i wait before taking my next dose to make sure there are no problems??

: Please check with your physician and pharmacy for specific foods to avoid and their advice regarding taking the medications. Orange juice is acidic and sometimes is to be avoided close to dosing.

Yes, but the caveat: is that the toddler must consume all of the vehicle.  However, i would avoid using lemonade, limeade, grapefruit juice and orange juice. Soft foods like apple sauce often work well.  Generally, amoxicillin is well accepted by toddlers but, if you know that your little one won't take it, ask your pharmacist to add a flavor-enhancer directly to the bottle.   Dr. Anne

Yes: In moderation. However it may interact with certain medications like Statins hence should be avoided while on such medications

is there an issue with hyzaar and grapefruit juice?

Accepted Answer

Hyzaar grapefruit: No sure what you mean by issue?  Grapefruit can change the metabolism of some meds. Changes how liver clears meds.  I would go to Drugs.com and look this up for all meds you are taking. Especially CCBs.
