Oral Amoxicillin: If they were going to appear, the signs of a severe penicillin allergy would be displayed within 30-60 minutes following an oral dose.  If there were no reactions after the second dose, you are not likely to have a severe reaction for that course of therapy.

Allergy?: Amoxicillin is a penicillin derivative, and plenty of people are allergic to penicillins, so it very could be an allergic reaction.  Monitor very closely, and if it worsens then get to an ED or urgent care center right away.

i was put on cipro/flagyl for a very mild case of diverticulitis. they were horrible to take. so i was prescribed augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) 875. i have anxiety about taking this medication, because of the other two. ?

Do not worry: First of all, diverticulitis should be confirmed by the presence of symptoms and the finding of inflammation by ct scan. This justifies the use of antibiotics. The problem antibiotic is the flagyl. Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) typically does not have these side effects and should have close to the same coverage.

i'm taking the maximum dose of benadryl (diphenhydramine) for an allergy to amoxicillin, but experiencing dry mouth and anxiety. can i switch to zyrtec? how long should i wait after my last benadryl (diphenhydramine) to take zyrtec?

Antihistamines: you can start zyrtec (cetirizine) tonight  it too has sedative effects so be aware not to drive or use heavy machinery
