Not for pain: Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It is used for an infection. Do you have an infection? Just because you have a toothache, it does not mean you are infected.

Either way the tooth needs to be evaluated and treated. Take an otc pain med for the pain and call your dentist for an appointment.

No: Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and will not help the itch. Try an over the counter moisturizing cream and if severe an over the counter Hydrocortisone cream (but not more than a week at a time).
