Post phlebectomy: After ambulatory phlebectomy you will have several tiny incisions which heal quickly. You may have an initial bandage for a day or two, and be encouraged to walk. Pain is surprisingly little. Soon the bulging veins you had will be a thing of the past.

Minimum discomfort.: Ambulatory phlebotomy is a procedure whereby varicose veins are removed.  The patient is awake and the areas to be treated are anesthetized with a local anesthetic (tumescent) followed by removing the veins through 2mm punctures.  Usually no sutures are used and the procedure is well tolerated.  Post procedure you should be able to get back to most routine activities within 3 to 5 days.

Well tolerated.: Vein closure either with radiofrequency ablation or laser is usually very well tolerated.  Most people can be back to routine activities within 48 hours.  RF alone has a shorter recovery time than RF and Amb Phlebectomy . The downtime is minimal with both.  A lot has to do with the expertise of the person doing the procedure and the amount of microphlebectomies. You should see a vein specialist.

Yes.: Phlebectomy (microphlebectomy) is often routinely performed in conjunction with GSV ablation.  These procedures are done under local and tumescent anesthesia and are usually done in the office. Both of these procedures can also be performed independent of each other.

Walk in, walk out: Generally, this refers to a center where can get either regular scheduled or urgent walk-in care.  It is usually a stand-alone center--not hospital based.  At least 50% of hospital emergency dept visits are unnecessary, extremely expensive, very impersonal, very scary, and take away effort and funds for true emergencies. Triage those 50% to centers or community docs..And another $100b+ saved.

Clarify with OB doc: Many OB providers have the view that walking/ambulating can increase risk of or worsen problems such as preterm labor, leakage of amniotic fluid, bleeding also preeclampsia.  Physical activity might indeed lead to increased uterine activity. Therefore, some doctors ask patients to spend most of their time reclining on a sofa or lying in bed except for getting up to toilet. Ask OB for specifics.

i added photos in health files. curious if it is normal to get bedsore at 31 and ambulatory from sitting doing homework.

Not normal unless...: This is not normal, unless you are overweight, and then the constant pressure while in a seated postilion can cause insidious skin breakdown from lack of proper oxygenated blood flow, thus causing a "bedsore."  I can view the pictures, but regardless you need to see the Dr. if you have a bed sore to assure it gets treated and you do not get more,etc.  Best wishes.

Holter monitor: Study shows the cardiac rhythm for the period the monitor is recording and the association with recorded symptoms.
