Not recommended. : That is not a medicine that is widely used in pediatrics. I would be uncomfortable using it in a young baby.

Safe: Both are safe but antibiotic (amoxil) may not help if it is a viral illness.

Ambroxol: Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent. It doesn't cause hypertension. There are no reported cases of hypertension with ambroxol.

Ambroxol: The only side effect i could find for ambroxol hydrochloride is just some mild gastrointestinal distress.

?: unfortunately no such preparation in the US that I know of, guaifenesin can produce the same effect as ambroxol, loosen phlegm, at any rate if really sick , see your doctor for yourself or your child

Natural remedies: Antihistamines may not be very safe for kids under 4 yrs. 
Try these, since they reduce inflammation (allergy) effectively and do not cause any side effects
1. Eliminate milk, yogurt, kefir, cheese
2. Raw honey 1/2 teaspoon 2 times/day
3. Sunshine for 30 min at noon or vitamin D3 3000 IU/day
4. Probiotics (raw apple cider vinegar, probiotic pills)
5. Small amount of liquorice tea

Check with doc: Cetirizine is good as an allergy medicine for control over a period of time. It's not meant as an acute treatment. If your child suddenly has cough, you should have him examined to make sure the issue is viral vs. Asthma or other etiology. A 2 year old can take cetirizine, but it's off-label, and should be guided by a physician.

my daughter is having slight dry cough & nose block problem. is diphenhydramine hydrochloride a good medicine for this problem?

Maybe, maybe not: Diphenhydramine (benedryl) is and antihistamine.  That means it blocks a pathway involving a chemical called histamine, which is released especially with allergy issues.   Thus, benedryl with decrease congestion, but only congestion caused by histamine.  Cold/respiratory infection congestion is not caused this way and thus wont be blocked by this medication well. There are other options...

can promethazine (prescribed to be taken with demerol (meperidine hydrochloride) after prk surgery) be taken with nyquil (for a cough that is keeping my husband up all night)?

Demerol (meperidine hydrochloride): Is a powerful cough suppressant.  If he is coughing while taking it, he should see his primary care physician.
