Difficult: Trigeminal neuralgia is what conventional medicine calls unusual and severe face pain.

No: To my knowledge, the serotonin reuptake inhibitors (like celexa) is not really used to treat tn.  First line treatment is tegretol and second line treatment is usually one of the "spinal cord" muscle relaxants.  Celexa (citalopram) may be useful in the depression which usually accompanies a chronic pain condition and alter the perception of pain.

No: trigeminal neuralgia, although it can be very painful, can be treated.  There is no reason it should get worse over time, especially if you find the right treatment.  Once you are no longer in pain, your anxiety might decrease.

Not conclusive : First of all, a single blood test in isolation do not provide enough information to form any definitive conclusions. A number of tests must be performed to have any meaning. Carbamazepine may cause an elevated GGT level, but also NSAIDs OTC may. Talk to your treating physician to find out what the test could mean for you. Carbamazepine 300mg for TN is a very small dose.

PENS: Per-cutaneous electro nerve stimulation is available at many pain management sites. Electro acupuncture may also give relief.

No: Trig neuralgia is diagnosed based upon the history and the description of the pain.  An MRI may show the loop of a blood vessel next to the trig nerve.  This is thought to be the cause but you may still have tn even if the MRI does not show anything as the vessels are quite small.
