No: Allergy is to the rye grass pollen when inhaled, affects the respiratory passages either upper, nose and sinuses, or lower, bronchi in lungs, and has nothing to do with rye seeds

No: As it stands right now, the only "cure" for food allergy is avoidance.  People can be desensitized in some instances - studies have shown this to be possible with milk, eggs, and peanuts.  However, that is not a "permanent" cure.

Allergies: Allergies can cause cough via a post nsal drip - congestion itself can give a sensation of difficulty breathing - also can be associated with asthma - so if significant breathing difficulty you should have it checked out.

Milk & wheat allergy: Glutamate is a salt, gluten is a wheat protein... Since you ask about eating bread, i assume you are asking about gluten enteropathy, not monosodium glutamate(msg). Gluten sensitivity is not an allergy; people make iga; milk allergy involves ige, as does wheat allergy. People with these often have stomache aches, diarrhea, bloating; sometimes wt loss, vomiting, non-gi symptoms. Avoidance helps.

is it dangerous to eat moldy bread if you have a penicillin allergy?

Accepted Answer

No: Most mold on bread is rhizopus, not penicillium, and would not cause a reaction in those with allergy to the drug penicillin. There have been a few penicillium molds producing penicillin found in some sausages and cheeses, but generally, there probably is not enough penicillin to cause a reaction, since this is almost never seen. The usda recommends that moldy breads be discarded for everyone.

: I would not depend on an allergy test as a kid to represent the allergy issues of an adult. At most it is a guide. Mold is also not one thing. There are many separate families of mold, most of which cause few problems to adults. If interested get re-tested. Blood tests are available that can indicate a persons' dangerous allergies that they must avoid.

i have tourettes syndrome and have had it since i was 7.some foods make my  tics worse like bread give me allergy symptoms. could wheat cause this?

Doubtful: Aggravation of tics by ingestion of certain food is not well established.
