Yes: And if you can quit smoking, you'd get sick much less!  don't forget that in the winter, our noses need moisture--even when we think they are stuffy. Many times they are asking for moisture.  I like ayr saline gel spray as it sticks and doesn't run down the back of your throat. Steroid nasal sprays are helpful too!

Follow up: Over the counter medications are not very effective. I would recommend relieving congestion with nasal saline, keeping well hydrated and taking a tsp of honey. If your cough is severe, a follow up is recommended. If there is difficulty breathing /high fever, please see your physician. Most uncomplicated viral illnesses clear up in two weeks. Virtual appt can be made.

Ok except: Alka seltzer contains aspirin, so it should be avoided by those people with Aspirin allergy.  Otherwise, alka seltzer at usual doses is well tolerated by those who have environmental allergies.
