Not Likely: It takes time to develop the tolerance that would lead to a withdrawal event.   I would excpect this to take several weeks of continuous daily alcohol intake.

After Alcohol: Delerium tremens or dts can occur even after regular chronic alcohol consumption is abruptly terminated in some people.  Marked by hallucinations, cardiovascular instability and seizures.  More likely you will experience tremors, headaches, fatigue, sleep changes, irritability, agitation and in some cases palpitations.  Your consumption amount will also impact the degree of symptoms experienced.

: Depends on you and your liver and meds you may be taking.

To test I would stop drinking sand check BP and pulse every 3 hours and record if you feel jittery or not each time. Keep a diary and share with your Dr.  You did not say how much total CD ethanol you get every day.  Drink size is important to document especially in an alcoholic. If BP and pulse go up &amp; you are jittery you are withdrawing

Not to be expected: This pattern of alcohol consumption would not be expected to result in seizures during absence of alcohol, unless of course you are misinterpreting your frequency of usage.  Please do not drive on days when you use alcohol.  Police are artful overachievers when it comes to alcohol and marijuana.

i took 0.5 mg of ativan twice daily for three weeks due to severe alcohol withdrawal symptoms. can i stop abruptly or does even three weeks of 1mg daily require tapering the dose? am i at risk of withdrawal from the ativan ?

Detoxification: It sounds like you are trying to detoxify yourself. Do not recommend home detoxification unless this is being done under medical supervision. Asking input from an unknown doctor on a public education site is not medical monitoring.

hi i realize that norvasc (amlodipine) wasnt the problem it was alcohol withdrawal. its been 5 weeks and i've still have symptoms what can i do to ease the discomfo?

See psychiatrist: Alcohol withdrawal symptoms generally peak in 48-72 hours, but can persist for several weeks.  It's also not uncommon for existing anxiety and other disorders to show themselves more clearly, once alcohol is stopped.  A psychiatrist, especially one who's also an addiction medicine doctor, may  be able to help you with your symptoms.  Also you can get support from aa. http://www.aa.org  good luck!

doctor has upped my vitamin b complex to 3 times daily. each capsule contains 85mg thiamine and i am on 600mg thiamine daily already.  is for alcohol withdrawal. no drink in 2 weeks now but have auditory noises and still humming and buzzing in legs?

Nerve injury: Humming and leg buzzing suggests damage to peripheral nerves, likely from the alcohol,consumption and dietary lack. Discuss other vitamins/mineral supplements  and dietary needs with your doc as well as other ways to control these symptoms while your body heals. The auditory noises may be tinnitus which may or may may not have  been caused by the alcohol, but still requires treatment
