is the fisher wallace stimulator effective for anxiety and pain?

Accepted Answer

In some, yes: The fisher wallace stimulator does have active ongoing research plus published research as well.  It can be useful -- either separate from, or combined with, medications for anxiety, depression, and pain.  It requires at least 5-10 sessions for effect.  It requires a prescription, and costs ~$695 (which insurance may or may not cover.)this is comparable to other devices, such as the alpha-stim.

any doctors have any advice for adjusting to electro-stimulation therapy to treat depression anxiety and insomnia? im using the fisher wallace device and first use had bad anxiety during it and now have a mild headache.

CES: Many of my patients use cranial electrotherapy stimulation but all use AlphaStim. None of them use products by Fisher Wallace. I have NEVER had a patient develop anxiety with use of CES. If you are experiencing headaches,  the microamperes may be turned up too high or the sessions may be too long for you. I was surprised to read that the Fisher Wallace stimulator doesn't require a prescription??

can you eat walleye when your pregnant? from a minnesota lake.

Accepted Answer

Yes but limit: You can, but limit the quantity due to the possible mercury and lead present in the fish.

Consumption once every 2-3 weeks should be fine.
But remember the larger the fish(wt) the more possible contamination.

I assume you are from MN, and I would not suggest Lutefisk either.

is alastin skin nectar safe to use on the penis to help the skin heal down there from a tea tree oil burn?

See a dermatologist: It is difficult to answer this question without performing a physical exam to determine the extent of the burn. You should see your primary care doctor or dermatologist to evaluate the burn and determine the most appropriate treatment. Otherwise, find your local urgent care center to have a physician evaluate the burn. Topical silver sulfadiazine would be a more appropriate treatment for burns.

i have alot of abdominal pain,and regularly have stool with what looks like white or clear mucus.which will also occasionally be bloody and is always cloudy as well.are these normal things or could i possible have an underlying medical condition?

: Changes in stool like you describe, especially the bloody stool needs an evaluation by a doctor. i wonder if you have inflammatory bowel disease

Depends: After a while, the brain turns off one if the images so the double vision stops,but they only see from one eye.That process is called amblyopia. There are cases where a weakness develops in one of the muscles controlling eye direction, which causes double vision. If that recovers, or the distortion is fixed, they may preserve vision in both eyes with proper alignment.

i had upper abdomen pain for about 5 days.  doctor did an us and only found slightly thick gallbladder wall.the pain is gone, but i have no appetite?

Cholecystitis?: A thick gall bladder wall, with or without stones, may well be cholecystitis. If the pain was primarily in right upper quadrant or mid upper abdomen, I'd be inclined to make this diagnosis. Assoc.  symptoms would be back pain,nausea,bloating w gas,maybe fever, and fatty food intolerance. Discuss with your doctor, and stay on low fat until sorted out. good luck.

Be seen: Certainly if you are describing the sudden onset of respiratory difficulty, you would want to be seen immediately to ensure it is nothing dangerous.

It : It sounds like you need more evaluation to find out what is making you feel so ill and make sure this is not lymphoma or some other sort of cancerous growth.  If you have had enlarged nodes for over a month, i'd talk to your doctor about getting one of these biopsied, especially if you haven't had other symptoms of an infection.
