are air optix lenses for astigmatism and night time use?

Accepted Answer

Air optix lenses: These lenses can be used for day or night vision. But i would not recommend anyone to sleep with any kind of lenses on chronic basis because of the potential risks of corneal infection. I advise to either use daily lenses and remove prior to sleeping or take out and clean well before leaving them overrnight in a solution prescribed by the lens manufacturer.

what if air bubble remain in front of lens after phacoemulsification and is blurring the vision? will it be alright...?

Accepted Answer

Allow time: Occasionally air is left in an eye on purpose to help keep tissue in proper position during the healing.  Less commonly it is not on purpose.  In both instances, the body, with fluid exchange that is natural, will absorb the air and while it interferes with vision, when absorbed, you should achieve your potential best vision.

my prescription for contact lenses recommends air optix aqua for astigmatism but how long does it take the eyes to adjust to a new persciption?

A day or two: You should be comfortable and see well in a day or two.

lens  i nplants in both of my eye  and i am about to to get on a air plane so i will have to go through the  medal detect should inform them of the implants and should  i maybe  close my eyes while  they are use the medal  detector?

No problem : Your toric intraocular lens implants contain NO metal and are safe for air travel, metal detectors, X-ray machines, and MRI's. Have fun!

new multifocal lenses x2d. worked great. on 3rd day can't see close up. didn't switch them up. did get very little sleep night before. explanation?

Several possibilitie: Multifocal lenses are very sensitive to drying. Sleeping in them is not recommended. We don't know if you sleep in them. If a prescription is a tiny bit off, one may be able to use one's focusing power for days or weeks until one's eyes fatigue. It is possible that the near vision part needs to be stronger.  It may also be that you have hidden strabismus that presents in this manner. See your doc.

im farsighted & astigmatism. my contacts  are very blurry at night & during the day. the lenses are toric and don't seem dry. i see better w/out them.

Accepted Answer

Use eyeglasses: Contacts are a convenience which allow for good sight without the need for eyeglasses.  If you see better without them, they are not a requirement.  If your ophthalmolgist has been advised about your difficulty, perhaps a better fit can be found.  Otherwise consider regular eyeglass use.

Depends: You cannot base a fit just purely on the curvature (base curve) or diameter of a contact lens. The health and topography of your ocular surface play an important role, as well as the contact lens material and its shape. You should always be fitted and evaluated yearly (as you eye may change)  and for any new type of contact lens.

is there a special contact lens that i can wear at night to correct my vision in the morning without contacts?

Accepted Answer

Yes: I would avoid such device. Not only are you increasing your risk of keratitis, which can lead to blindness, you are changing the anatomy of the eye by mechanical force, for a few hours.. Vision is too precious. I know zero eye physicians or eye surgeons who advocate this treatment. The only people who I have seen recommend this is non-physicians and non-surgeons. Consult an eye physician.

Your : Your daily disinfection of the soft contact lenses is ideal.  It certainly is safe to extend your use of the contact lenses, as long as your vision remains clear and your eyes do not become red and irritated.

Accepted Answer

Possibly: I assume you mean intraocular lens implants.  If the lenses have not been properly inserted, are multifocal, or if there is a residual refractive error, this may occur, although it is fairly uncommon. Another cause could be opacification of the membrane behind the implant, which can be cleared with the use of a laser.
