Sten: Not sure i understand the question.  If your ef is 15% range you may be at significant risk for sudden cardiac death.  The aicd could prevent this. The number of stents is not really germaine.

what are the differences between aicd and pacemaker?

AICD and pacer: An AICD almost always has a pacemaker as part of its circuitry. The ICD has a wire that monitors heart electrical function and circuitry to sense that electrical activity and respond with a cardioversion shock or a smaller pacemaker stimulus. The pacer doesn't have the cardioversion circuitry just the sense/pace circuitry. The ICD needs a bigger battery because it has to put out a larger discharge

ok so i have a aicd implanted and over a year and i still have the same symptoms plus my ef is still 15 to 20% so tell me what operation will help me?

AICD=your paramedic: Aicd just means automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator and it does not do much unless your heart goes "out of whack or stops". Basically it will "shock your heart" automatically when it senses a need to do so, similar to when the paramedic trying to shock you to get your heart going again. So in a sense, you have a paramedic with you at all time. So, that all it does..Good luck.

Confused: Restrictive cardiomyopathy is not associated with a low ef. Perhaps you meant "idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy"? Ef can be improved by using a combination of beta blockers (especially coreg), vasodilators (especially ace-inhibitors) and using a resynchronization icd if appropriate in your case. Avoiding alcohol is also mandatory.

See a doctor: There are lots of things that can cause stomach pain after sexual intercourse.  Some of them are gynecological.  She may be burping acid because of positional issues or other reasons.  She should get a gynecological checkup at least

Meds: It's probably caused by the meds you are taking for the heart.

started as pain on top of shoulder now swelling and pain radiating to side of neck.  have implanted aicd also have copd.  related?

Lymph node?: If the swelling is just above the clavicle it could be a lymph node.  I would have it examined by a doctor as it could also be a whole host of other things including muscle sprain/strain, joint swelling, bursitis, etc...

i had blood work done it say my folic aicd is 2.34 and the last month in a half i go poop right right away and its with everything i eat even veg.

Malabsorption: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your serum folate (folic acid) level and the history suggest malabsorption. It would be prudent to see a gastroenterologist for an evaluation.

Go to emergency: It sounds like your chest infection may not have been adequately treated or has returned. This sounds like something very serious is going on either with your heart or lungs so please go to emergency department immediately.

i have a very low sex drive. is there any medication that could help? i do have congestive heart failure and an aicd. i take entresto, mag ox, spironlactone, asa, metroprolol?

: There are two medications approved by the FDA for low sex-drive in pre-menopausal women - Flibanserin and Bremelanotide. Heart disease is a relative contraindication for bremelanotide. You may want to discuss this issue with your PCP or gynecologist as there are a number of off-label prescription medications that are frequently used for this issue.
