Many things: ...Can cause atypical glandular cells on a pap smear, several relating to age fertility, menstrual cycle, etc.  This is the us in the agus (undetermined significance).  The pap smear is simply a screen, and this finding will lead to more definitive testing (either re-screen or colposcopy with biopsy).

Requires evaluation: Newer term is agc, atypical glandular cells. It means that the cervix and uterus (endometrium or lining of the uterus) require further evaluation by a gynecologist who will further test the cells to look for cancer. Follow up is important because caught early, this can be treated. Ignored, it can lead to cancer. Definitely don't panic, but be sure to follow up for additional tests without delay.

Cycle phase: Were you menstruating at the time the Pap smear was done? If not, next step most likely would be a pelvic ultrasound with an endometrial biopsy, if negative, repeat Pap test in 6 months when not menstruating. Best Wishes

i had a bunch of cyst on my ovaries that were detected during a ct scan, and i got a vaginal ultrasound a month later, and they were all gone. i recently had an abnormal pap(agus), and the colposcopy was negative. could this mean ovarian cancer?

Unlikely: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, what you described does not suggest ovarian cancer.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

: BV does not cause these pap abnormalities. Probably HPV is the cause. Most cases are not serious and do not progress to cervical cancer. Discuss with your doctor.

The biopsy results will determine whether there's anything in the endocervix that needs to be treated -- chances of a lesion requiring hysterectomy producing only "agus" are low. Be sure to maintain your thyroid medication through your pregnancy.

Usually none: If you have had a total hystrectomy, not just a supra-cervical hystrectomy, then a pap smear would not be used. However, pap is a technique -- and can be used on the walls of the vagina also. Therefore, depends on the reason for the hystrectomy.
