after getting an allergy shot, how soon can you exercise?

30 minutes: After an allergy shot, you need to wait in the office at least 30 minutes to be certain there are no reactions, so unless there is a treadmill in the office, you can't really exercise then. After that though, if you feel fine, there is no reason to wait to exercise.

i get occasional swelling over one eye during exercise also happened during series of sneezes. happens 4-6 weeks do get allergy shots.  mri was clean?

Allergic: That fact that the swelling is associated with sneezing suggests that these are allergic reaction although having unilateral swelling is unusual.  If the swelling occurs only when exercising outdoors, airborne allergens may well be the cause as well.  Allergy shots works about 80% of the time and usually takes months to become effective. Try antihistamine by mouth or eye drop prior to exercise.

Yes: There are several studies going on, on sublingual immunotherapy, which is allergy drops and recently a grass allergy pill was approved. The drops are not fda approved yet. Some allergists prescribe them, consult an allergist in your area for best advice according to your allergies.

Regardless, there is one sure way to stop eating, and that is to get away from all sources of food. Without food, eating comes to an immediate halt. It works every time, without fail.

No: First you need to identify the specific allergens with skin test or blood test for specific ige before you can be treated. There is no universal allergy treatment to cover all things you are allergic to.  The testing is really not such a big deal since even  a 5 year-old can handle it.

Allergy shots: Usually there is a build-up phase till maintenance dose is reached, then shots are spaced out to once every 4-6 weeks for the rest of the planned treatment period of 3-5 years,guided by several issues as response to therapy,alleviation of symptoms,need for other medications,quality of life, etc.., if no improvement after one year on maintenance,usually shots are discontinued, confer with ur doctor

if i tough out my allergies to my dog for long enough will my body eventually get used to it (like with allergy shots)?

Allergy shots: Do help. But. , first get evaluated and discuss this with your allergist to find out if you are truly allergic to dogs. You could have other issues and be sensitive to other stuff, too.
