After Antibiotics: A vaginal trichomonas infection may have no symptoms or a vaginal discharge that is often copious, foul smelling, irritating or itchy, sometimes described as green in color, and sometime frothy of foamy.  After completing antibiotic treatment it should be safe to resume sex.   Safe sex practices should always be used.

Yeast infec unlikely: Yeast infection is not uncommon after antibiotic treatment, but usually is associated with itching and a white cheesey discharge.  Yellow green sounds more like persistent infection with trich or other bacterial vaginitis. I recommend that you be reexamined and retested, to include GC and BV as well.

Trich is a vaginal: Disease, rarely it could get up in the uterus , but trich almost always causes symptoms of vaginal malodorous and unpleasant discharge and it is transmitted from a partner.

Possible. Need exam : It's possible the treatment was incomplete. It's also possible you developed bacterial vaginosis (an imbalance of normal bacteria or flora) this can result in discharge and symptoms like trichomonis. You need another exam by your clinician.

Yes: Trichomoniasis can be treated without a doctor&#x27;s office visit, but it usually requires an office visit to make the diagnosis.  Trichomoniasis is diagnosed by seeing the parasite under a microscope. If you know for sure that you have had sexual contact with someone who had trichomoniasis and you have symptoms, some doctors would treat you without a visit.  Try a doctor on HealthTap.

No: Zpack is not a recommended treatment for Trichomonasis.
While it is the most common STD in the US. You should get a culture yourself to see if you are infected.

i have been treated for trichomoniasis, my partner and i have not had sex at all since. he will be treated monday, can i be re infected without sex?

Only by sex: Trichomonas is an STD and is transmitted only by sex. You cannot be reinfected unless and until you have sex with an infected partner. However, the standard treatment for trichomonas, a single dose of metronidazole, fails to cure about 10% of infections. Therefore, apparently new infections sometimes are actually previous infections that weren&#x27;t cured and need more prolonged metronidazole Rx.

Yes: Trichomonas is transmitted from one warm place to another sexually and the protozoan organism doesn't survive well on clothing unless moist. Re-infection is more likely when you have intercourse again with an untreated partner.

Test of Cure: You had 3 separate infections, 2 of which were likely sexually transmitted, but the BV is not.  Any one of these infections may not clear on the first treatment, and you should be re-evaluated for "test of cure" to see if you need additional treatment, especially if you had another exposure during or after treatment.  Or, perhaps the bleeding is your menstruation?

if my partner recently found out he has trichomoniasis & i have a few symptoms such as itching, slight redness and odor, do i need an appointment to be treated with antibiotics right away?
