i need serious help getting my anxiety under control. itstotally ruining my life. any suggestions besides medications? i'm on quite a few as it is.

Anxiety: I wish you would have mentioned the meds you are already on.  Regardless, meditation, yoga, and controlled breathing exercises are alternatives, but in my opinion nothing works quite as well as some of the anxiolytics.  Completely cut out caffeinated beverages such as sodas or coffee, substituting alternatives.  Talk to your physician.

my dr prescribed lorien with the intention of weening me off them in the first 6 months of the year. she is closed and i need advice on how to be weened off the medication. i've used it for 9 months and i feel much more in control?

Need new eval then: I would be surprised a closing practice would not refer you to someone specific-perhaps call and request a referral, if not possible It would be best to see someone to establish a relationship with -do a new eval so they can help you safely make appropriate changes with knowledge of the full picture-SAFETY FIRST-coverage , and other docs best referral sources

my fathers bp shoots in the night for a while & then comes down.he has high bp for years and on medications to control it.what might be triggering it!

Hypertension: His blood pressure may be increasing because his medications are not truly controlling his condition.  A 24 hour monitor may be needed to check that.  Is the blood pressure cuff you are using the right size for him, has it been calibrated to the one at the doctors office.  When does he take his meds, ?right before you check it?  Does he have salty snacks at night.  Discuss this with his doctor.

Gastroparesis: Yes. There are numerous medications, surgical procedures, and even gastric pacers that can be used. See a board certified gastroenterologist.

Medications for: Hairloss are pretty much limited to Minoxidil and propecia (finasteride).  I'm not aware of any dietary measures that have been scientifically proven to be helpful.

See below: Are you anxious about every day stuff or particular events?Generally, it's good to know what makes you anxious. Practice relaxation, mediation, guided imagery (you can google it); keep a diary of the events when you happen to be anxious -- what happened (the event), thoughts you had; things you've done to decrease anxiety; how you body responded (where did it feel in your body).

i have a slight bowl incontenance problem. can it be controlled naturally or with medication?

Possible: Incontinence should not be considered a benign symptoms so review this with your doctor. If you are having simple anal leakage from decreased rectal tone, bulking agents such as fiber and anti-diarrhea agents such as immodium may help.

what else can i do to control yeast other than medications. i'd rather take a more natural route.

Yogurt: eat yogurt,it will revive the natural bacterial flora and kill the fungus.
some recommend a vinegar douche.
but if you have a full blown fungus infection you have to have medication.

if oxycontin isn't strong enough to control my pain, is there a different medication i should try?

Accepted Answer

Yes: First thing to know is what is causing the pain to begin with.  A lot of times, there are a lot of alternative minimally invasive treatments which may reduce the need to take powerful pain medication.  Having said that, patients can develop tolerance to specific medications if used chronically.  An alternative is to go through an "opioid rotation" when a different class of opioid can be tried.

how long are cholesterol levels affected by cholesterol controlling medication after you stop taking it?

Lipids: The rebound of cholesterol level after stopping meds will vary depending on diet and exercise and other factors, can't make uniform prediction.
