Interestingly, you might do well on vyvanse, (lisdexamfetamine) the "pro-drug" preparation of adderall, even if you're not having optimal results on maximum doses of Adderall xr. Of the non-stimulants strattera is approved for adults for adhd; Intuniv will be, soon, & i'm not sure about capvay. It takes ~4 weeks to know if these are working for you. Best of luck!

Maybe: Nuvigil is a derivative of provigil.  Provigil has been shown to be effective in treating adhd in several well done reports, eg, psychiatry res. 2009 aug 15;168(3):234-7. E pub 2009 may 12. Similar studies are pending on nuvigil, so its use would be as a third line if other treatments fail.

Inattention & distractibility diminish less & tend to be the major issue. People can develop skills to compensate to an extent including career choices that fit their symptoms better. 2/3 continue to have symptoms in adulthood.
