Can cause agitation: Medications like Cymbalta (duloxetine) can cause activation and agitation causing restlessness and possible poor concentration.  This is not adhd per se, but if you are more agitated and activated on the cymbalta, (duloxetine) it may mimic 'hyperactivity'.  Please consult your prescribing physician as this may be a side effect of the Cymbalta (duloxetine) requiring an adjustment or change in medication.

i take 15mg er dexedrine for adhd. i recently added in 30mg dr cymbalta (duloxetine). i've heard this can be a bad combo but psych prescribed it. is it bad????

Jittery much?: Dexedrine stimulates (hopefully) the front part of your brain by blocking the reuptake and increasing the release of norepinephrine and dopamine.  Cymbalta (duloxetine) also blocks the reuptake of norepinephrine as well as serotonin to treat depression/anxiety.  The overlap in their behavior means your risk of certain side effects (increased heart rate/blood pressure, insomnia, upset stomach) increases.

See your doctor: Many medications can cause side effects especially when you start them initially.  Try not to stop medications suddenly without a discussion with your doctor.  Not all medications work for everyone and your provider can help you find a regimen of medications that work for you and decrease your side effects

Weight gain: All antidepressants can cause weight gain as part of their side-effect profile. In the case of Cymbalta (duloxetine) it's uncommon.

Not directly: Fatty liver comes from weight gain. The treatment is weight loss. If you gained weight while on Cymbalta (duloxetine) then indirectly it could cause fatty liver. It is not however any direct effects of the drug on the liver. Rather, it would be more of a direct effect of the drug on your appetite. Best wishes.

Cymbalta (duloxetine) Sweating: Sweating can be a side effects with certain meds. With Cymbalta (duloxetine) some have very prominent sweating problem. Discuss with you psych reducing, dividing the total dose can help at times. Some need additional small dose of Robinul can help(if Cymbalta (duloxetine) is working well for you depression and anxiety).
