why could my doc not easily remove a 1/2 inch sessile polyp on the sigmoid colon?  what type of doc can do it?

Sessile = flat: Sessile polyps are flat, which makes it very difficult (but not impossible) to remove. However, they can usually be biopsied to determine if (pre)cancerous or not. This is where the gastroenterologist comes in handy. Realistically, it comes down to experience as newly minted docs may not have skills of seasoned ones. But in general, gastroenterologist is specialist to go to for colonoscopy.

i had small multiple polyps in my sigmoid colon, and erosion seen at rectum, decending colon. is there a highrisk for cancer, please help?

Depends: Risk can depend family history of polyps, cancer, number, size, and cell type of polyps, presence or absence of inflammatory bowel disease. If present, more frequent colonoscopies indicated. Low fat, hi fiber diet, containing low or no fat dairy, lots of fruit, vegs, legumes, whole grains may help. Supplements preventiodon't help as much. Talk to md ifif Aspirin or NSAID prevention is indicated 4u.

my doc said he couldn't remove a 1/2 inch sessile polyp on my sigmoid colon but said he'll try again at a hospital.  would i repeat the colon cleanse?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If he is going to repeat a colonoscopy to remove the polyp, you will need to repeat the cleanse. Freeing the colon of debris will help the physician be able to identify the polyp, and issues during removal, and will make for a safer procedure. Cleanse should be repeated and make sure to ask your physician for any necessary scripts related to the cleanse. Hope that helps!

as a result, tubulovillous mild dysplasia i will have cancer in the future according to this result?

Cancer? Rectum: The fact you had polyps removed does not mean you are going to have a Cancer in the future. It simply means that you have somewhat increased risk for developing Cancer. Accordingly you need future colon/rectom checks as advised by your doctor.
This is the best way to prevent having a cancer in this part of your body. Good luck

my husband had polyps in his rectum and sigmoid colon. they were taken out by using a snare and were biospied showing to be malignant. he then had another rectal exam and biopsy of the cell walls this showed that the it did not spread into the lymph nodes

Not sure: What is your question. Lymph node status can only be detected possibly with ct or pet scan and surgical specimen removal, that is, after colon &/or rectal resection.

Sounds: like the colonoscopy was a "success" it resulted in a possibly "PRE-malignancy!!  Follow the GI expert's advice as to your next follow-up scope!\

Pre-cancerous: As opposed to a hyperplastic polyp, an adenomatous polyp is the type of growth in your colon that can become cancerous over time.  Variants such as villous or tubulo-villous adenomas may also describe this type of polyp.  If you have these removed at colonoscopy, you will require surveillance on a regular basis.

do you still feel pain a couple of months after sigmoid colon surgery?

It is possible: I do not know where your pain is located or how frequent it is. There can be aching discomforts from healing muscles that may be more noticeable when you increase your activities such as walking or exercises. Also sometimes there can be internal gas pains that may come and go as the intestines heal after surgery. Check with your surgeon.
