NO; check for cause: Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can help some cases of infertility (see Dr. Fowler's answer for details). It's unfortunate that Dr. Fisher is so sure of himself when he is obviously biased and knows nothing about Chinese medicine.
While Chinese medicine helps many things it can't cause a growth spurt in a 36 yo. The most likely cause is a benign pituitary tumor raising HGH. Have your Dr. test you.

Heightening...: Unfortunately, it is not possible to get taller unless surgeons cut the bone and lengthen it... Your stance can possible improve through therapy with flexibility and core strentghtening or if low back pain improves and it allows better posture. That makes people see you stand more upright, and -in fact- look taller....

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is very safe. Agree with Dr. Baker - neither acupuncture nor medicinal herbs will cause you to grow taller at this age.

May increase success: More research is needed but there are some studies that show increased success when acupuncture is done with ivf. There is no evidence it would decrease success so the worst that might happen is that is won't help. It seems reasonable to try. I would say that : &gt; 90% of the patient's i treat with acupuncture rave about it. However, acupuncture needs to be used for issues where it is indicated. It doesn't treat all conditions. Sometimes it is best as an adjunct with standard medical treatment. Western and eastern medicine can often fit hand in hand with excellent results.

Not usually: Often times insertions are not felt by the person receiving acupuncture.  When felt it may feel like a tiny prick as it enters the skin - however using the "push the finger" technique will usually prevent that.  There are a few acupuncture points which are painful to needle but there are alternative sites for most of those.  Most needles have a tiny diameter.

Yes: Very safe!  there is little bleeding due to needle diameter. There is little infection because needle cored is not hollow - won't drag in skin and bacteria.  Lung puncture is avoided by wodging the skin & oblique needle placement.  Internal organ contact is prevented by inserting to depths dictated in traditional chinese medicine. But it you faint at the sight of a needle  - tell the provider.
