No: Acid reflux is acid from stomach(the organ not the "tummy").Has nothing to do with kidney stones.

i take 3,000mg max of tums. not everyday but when i have acid reflux. am i taking too much? i want to keep my kidneys healthy im healthy

Hard to guess: For normal adults, the recommended daily dietary calcium intake is about 1200mg. People are recommended to take supplements if they don't eat enough dietary calcium or need extra for some other reason. People generally take daily supplements of 800-1200mg, with a maximum supplement of about 2000-2400mg. It is uncertain if taking oral calcium leads to kidney stones or not (more research needed).

there are reports that nexium (taken for acid reflux) can potentially cause kidney problems. are there also similar concerns about pepcid?

: You're correct in that for past few years there have been concerns about kidney problems from chronic use of ppi meds like nexium, but pepcid is in another class of meds &amp; I haven't heard about an y problems with kidney diseases from its long-term use. Your pharmacist may have more information about this matter though.

i just started taking a ppi for acid reflux. i read an article last year that long term use of ppis can cause chronic kidney disease.  is this true?

You may be: right.  If your doctor prescribes long term PPI use for you, then you should take it as prescribed.   However, it is best to have your kidney function checked at least once or twice a year to make sure that you are not one of the very few people with this adverse effect. It's possible: It is possible that some upper GI symptoms can produce a back ache, but normally they cause an abdominal or chest discomfort.

Does your lower back bother you more by twisting or bending over?  It is more common for the muscles to be the cause of symptoms in that part of the body.

IBS and Reflux: Both of these conditions can be exacerbated with stress. I have a lot of patients tell me that there're IBS and their acid reflux can go away while they're on vacation, this is not always the case, But it proves a point that they can be stress-related. I would tend to think the pending your low back is related to the IBS but I cannot be sure.  Yogurt can be helpful to control the symptoms of GERD

Is it GERD?: Sounds like your doctor thought you have gastroesophageal reflux disease which is common. Typically it produces heartburn, belching, and maybe stomach pain. Pantoprazole is the right drug for this condition. It should not cause "heart problem, lower back soreness, or weird feeling from the shoulder. The good dose of Pantoprazole is not working and you have symptoms unrelated to GER, go to your doc

my left side of my neck and left-arm has fuzzy or tingling. i had been having problems with my heart, stomach(acid reflux/gerd, bleching a lot, and stomach pains), and lower back problems.
can these one problems cause this?

No.  The opposite: Often chronic anxiety will worsen chronic gastritis, not the other way around.  Reflux has little to do with anxiety but the symptoms of reflux and gastritis are almost identical (burning over upper abdomen, lower chest) and you MAY be confusing one with the other.
