Possibly...: You could have a viral infection that is causing your symptoms. Do you have any other symptoms like low-grade fever, nasal congestion, sore throat, fatigue, etc.? If this is a viral syndrome, you should start to feel better in a few days. Meanwhile, rest, drink plenty of fluids, take acetaminophen for discomfort. If.there is no improvement or if symptoms worsen, see your doctor.

Many things: This could be many things, minor to serious, including dehydration, poor sleep, viral illnesses, rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune issues, fibromyalgia, or metabolic issues. If this is a constant, i would recommend discussing with your primary care doc as soon as possible to initiate workup. Generalized aches/pain can take sometime to diagnose. i always get aching pain all over body, neck stiffness and headaches. sometimes it is irritating and it is hard to keep neck up. my legs feel restless all the time. what should i do?

Further workup: If this is something that is progressive or not improving, i would consider having your pcp order an MRI of your brain and cervical spine. These might be normal, but I have seen patients with similar symptoms with abnormalities of the brain or spinal cord.

i am having a cough for more than 3 weeks and a cold for almost 2 weeks, i am also having head ache, body pain, and upper back pain.

Exam if continues: If the cough is getting less, and no fever, then wait for another ten days.  Drink more water to try to loosen the secretions and make them easier to cough up.  If not improving then, or new symptoms, then see your DR.
If you are a smoker, see your DR now.

Check it out: Your symptoms could be due to an autoimmune disease, psychiatric causes, and other physical reasons. Check it out with your Primary Care Physician as to the cause of these symptoms.

Many possibilities: Your symptoms are suggestive of an infectious or other process. It is impossible to make a diagnosis without more info. I think you should have a full exam. Your pcp is a good start.

my 24 year-old daughter has unexplained bruising around her eyes, severe fatigue, muscle aches, body pain, hot flashes followed by chills, a face rash &  swollen neck lymph node. she has repeated high c-reactive protein, but lupus panels are normal?

: Has she had a mononucleosis test? Has a rheumatologist been involved in her workup? She may have a type of autoimmune vasculitis. Is her platelet count normal or does she have thrombocytopenia, which can also be autoimmune, and which leads to easy bruising. I feel she requires more testing &amp; an infectious disease specialist consultation.

What r u waiting 4: A young buck should not be having persistent chest pain - it is a message something is wrong.  It may be anxiety, but this should be diagnosed only after medical things that can produce cardiac symptoms and anxiety (like thyroid or other metabolic issues) are ruled out.  Anxiety is very treatable.  But dont wait, go see your doctor, figure it out and follow up - and then enjoy a long life!

Depends: The cause of the body ache or pain is the issue here.  Sometimes a hot bath and massage is beneficial.

are body aches / pain a side effect  of cymbalta (duloxetine)?

Accepted Answer

Not likely: Less than 2% of those studied with Cymbalta (duloxetine) complained of body aches.  This was similar to placebo.  I tell my patients that all meds cause side effects and if the only thing new in your life is the addition of Cymbalta (duloxetine) than that be the the culprit.  Many side effects we cease if you continue the medication.  You should discuss this with your doctor.
