Different sites: Different injections sites should be used.  You can cause skin thickening and scarring from injecting into the same place each time.

is it possible that a saline iv cause swelling and a small haematoma if injected into the skin?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If the IV slips out of your vein and then the saline runs into your skin you can certainly get a hematoma. Using warmth on it may help.

Accepted Answer

Possible.: Of course there really is no fluid in the top of your head - just a sensation.  And there is no relation to the Insulin itself.  But the injection may occasionally  stimulate a nerve that overlaps with other nerves that supplies another portion of the body giving you a sensation where there is no stimulation.

why does dr pinch skin before he injects the novocain (procaine)?

Accepted Answer

For your comfort: Pinching the skin while injecting causes nerve fibers to transmit the sensation of "pain" to the brain.  Once these fibers have sent their signal, they cannot immediately send another signal, which makes the actual injection more comfortable until the anesthetic has a chance to take effect.  Also, pinching may be performed to protect an anatomic structure.

got radieesse injected into my nose to disguise my bump. what happens if i hit it and it moves up into my head and into my body?

Accepted Answer

Unlikely.: Radiesse (dermal fillers) is often used for non-surgical rhinoplasty, however, this is an off-label use. It would be unlikely to dislodge the Radiesse (dermal fillers) to your forehead and with time your body starts to degrade the Radiesse (dermal fillers) caha particles with macrophages.

Accepted Answer

No: Not enough testosterone in the injectable solution. And also a different diluent to deliver the testosterone.

No reaction: In advanced aids, the skin test will not be positive, we call it anergy, as the cells required to produce the reaction are deficient.

Skin color: Infection would be more likely to cause a rash not to change skin color. Certain diseases like addison's can cause entire skin color change - become bronze. If that's your case, see doc.

Accepted Answer

Yes: We call this lipohypertrophy.  Not only can this be a problem cosmetically but it can also interfere with how your Insulin is absorbed making it harder to keep your bs under control.  That's why we recommend and find it very important to rotate injection sites regularly.  There are many ways to do this: one example: rotate clockwise around the belly button with each injection 1 inch apart...

i had an allergic reaction to lidocaine injected in a pain shot. would i still have allergic reaction if i rub lidocaine 4% "icy hot" cream on my skin for pain?

Accepted Answer

: The likely reaction would differ but I would NEVER advise anyone with a documented allergic reaction to this drug, by injection or any other route of administration to ever expose themselves to it again.
