Weight loss: Your "huge" weight loss, if unintentional due to poor appetite, is a potentially serious symptom, probably a lot more important than having low lymphocyte or monocyte counts. See a doctor soon; or if already in care, discuss your ongoing symptoms and other concerns with your doctor.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, a monocyte count of 156 is not a cause for concern.

cbc was all in range except absolute monocytes was low (73) normal is 200-950.md wasn't concerned. what would cause this? should i be concerned?

Listen to doctor: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your monocyte count is nor a cause for concern.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Weight loss: that is unintentional needs to be assessed by your doctor along w/the low vitamins D &amp; B.  Please continue to see your doctor and/or get a second opinion.  This is a good thing because a second look may reveal something the first doc didn't see even though he/she is competent.  Peace and good health.

Leucocytosis : Leucocytosis with predominant neutrophils usually signifies infection/inflammation
Neutrophils are white blood cells that help to fight infection
Also you can have reactive leucocytosis from  repeated vomiting .
Will be best to follow up with your PCP for clinical correlation .
Major concern will be why are you vomiting .

This symptom may also develop as a side effect of some medications or deficiencies in vitamins such as folate (folic acid) and vitamin B12 deficiency.

If there are no other concerns, doctors often wait until the next time the patient needs blood drawn, then compare the results.

It depends: It depends on the clinical picture and why the test was done.  For monocytes usually, one low count is not medically significant.  Same for neutrophils.  What does matter is the pattern and direction of the trend.  So yes check in with you child's pediatrician to assess the significance of these results for your child.
